Careers of the Future event – a huge success

December 15, 2016

Tipperary Education and Training Board staff attended the “Careers of the Future” event in Hotel Kilkenny on Monday 5th December.  Minister of State with responsibility for Skills and Innovation, John Halligan TD addressed the event. The objective of the event was to explain the variety of job opportunities that are emerging in the region and provide resources to those involved in guidance counselling, education and training. Insights were provided into career opportunities in key sectors which are experiencing skill shortages in the south east.

Miriam O Callaghan (RTE Presenter) facilitated a comprehensive panel discussion with industry representatives from a variety of sectors including pharma/medtech, engineering, agrifood, global business services, construction and hospitality. Due to a variety of factors, the profile of jobs emerging are changing significantly and it is therefore important that young learners get up to date advice about future career prospects.1
