First Years Soccer Team reach Munster Final

Heartbreak as 1st year soccer team lost Munster Final 3-1 after extra time. Brandon Ryan Webster’s 1st half goal had us 1-0 up with 10 minutes left. Unfortunately it wasn’t to be. Scoil Ruáin is very proud of the team. Onwards & upwards! Best of luck to Killorgan as they progress to the next round.

World Autism Day 2nd April 2019

Scoil Ruáin celebrated World Autism Day on Tuesday 2nd April. All staff wore blue which is the colour chosen to represent Autism. All students were given a sticker to wear with the autism symbol. On Friday 5th April all Junior Cycle students walked 1km around the sports pitch to acknowledge the event and show support for their fellow students attached to the school’s ASD unit Coisceim and everyone with autism in our world.

Visit to Army Barracks in Kilkenny

Students from Coisceim, Scoil Ruain and An Cuan, Dun Iascaigh, Cahir came together for an Interschool’s activity in Kilkenny recently. They received a very warm welcome from Captain Larry Scallan and Corporal John Paul Harrington, a past pupil of Scoil Ruain. The students were given an interactive History lesson in the Barracks museum, a tour of the prison and a wonderful display of weapons. It was a fantastic experience for everyone involved.
