Professional Development in Europe for Templemore College Staff

May 3, 2016

Erasmus+ is an EU funded programme, managed by Léargas, which provides financial support and resources for staff to enhance both professional and personal competencies. Over the past year nine members of staff at the Templemore College were funded by Erasmus+ to attend professional development events in Europe. These included weeklong programmes on ‘Work Shadowing’, ‘Information Technology in the Classroom’ and ‘Making our School more International’. Staff travelled to Spain, Germany, Finland and Austria. Participating staff reported that they developed new understandings and competencies that will support the way they approach their teaching.

This new European professional development dimension emphasises the commitment of Templemore College of Further Education to remain aware of opportunities throughout Europe for staff to grow and develop.
