First Year Soccer

Congratulations to 1st year soccer team who beat St Ailbe’s School, Tipperary on a 5-1 score line. Scores coming from Sam Rowan (3), Alex Greene (1) and Brandon Ryan Webster (1).

Congratulations to Kyle Shelly

Congratulations to Scoil Ruain‘s Kyle Shelly who has been nominated as TippFM‘s Emerging Football Star of the Year. Well done Kyle.

Basketball

Well done to Scoil Ruáin‘s Cadet ‘D’ basketball team who had to fight hard against Meanscoil G to get the win in the South East Quarter Final on Monday. The girls won on a score line of 45-36 and will now face Colaiste Abbain in the South East Semi Final tomorrow in Adamstown.

Scoil Ruáin’s Cadet team has qualified for the All-Ireland Cup Semi-Final by beating Bandon of Cork. The semi-final will be played in January. They have also qualified for the Midlands Semi-Finals next week after beating Naas 51-25.

Senior Girls had a good win in the Midlands Quarter Final beating Naas 45-33. They play the Semi Final next Thursday & qualified for the All-Ireland playoffs in January on the back of making the Semi-Final. Captain Meibh Maher had an impressive game with 32 points.

Cadet ‘D’ team are now through to the South East Final against St. Paul’s Community College, Waterford next Tuesday in Mercy Convent Waterford. The girls beat Colaiste Abbain comprehensively yesterday in the Semi-Final on a score line of 41-16.

Tipperary ETB Schools Quiz

Scoil Ruáin had great success at this year’s ETB Schools Quiz which took place in The Dome, Semple Stadium, Thurles on Wednesday 21st November 2018. Scoil Ruáin’s winners were as follows:- 1st place (Junior):Bróna Swift, Stephen O’Sullivan, Emma Purcell, Noah Gehri. 3rd place (Junior):Anna Prendergast, Ava Heffernan, Micheal Lanigan, Shane Phelan.
3rd place (Senior):Kyle Shelly, Éabha Fitzgerald, Robert Pollard, Jack Trehy.

“A Day in the Life of Scoil Ruáin” Official Launch

Our new promotional video “A Day in the Life of Scoil Ruáin” was officially launched at our school Open Evening which took place on Thursday 22nd November. This short video captures what life is like for our students on a typical school day.
