Hurling

Our U-16.5 hurling team made the journey to Knockavilla Kickhams GAA grounds last week to play their first competitive match in this year’s Munster Cup. The opposition on the day were a fancied Limerick CBS side. While both sides approached the early stages tentatively, a flurry of early scores settled our side and seemed to instill a sense of confidence in them. Conditions on the day were conducive for hurling, and once Coláiste Mhuire got into a rhythm the outcome looked inevitable by half time. Some excellent performances were delivered by Luke Galvin, Seán Ryan, Pádraig Gleeson, Conor Ryan, Éamon Ryan, Aaron Delaney, Pádraig Loughnane and man of the match Martin Reilly who finished the game with a personal tally of 4-04. Well done also to management Mr. O’Sullivan and Mr. Fanning on their comprehensive victory.

Primary Hurling Tournament

Well done to all involved in the running of the 5th & 6th class hurling tournament held last week in the Dome. Huge numbers of excited students from Thurles and the surrounding hinterland converged on Coláiste Mhuire grounds to compete against each other at indoor hurling. Special thanks also to Transition year students who were central in co-ordinating this event.

Primary Schools Open Night

An important reminder to parents & students of senior classes in primary schools in Thurles & the surrounding areas that Open Night is being held at Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed this coming Tuesday 11th October from 6.30pm to 9pm. A Céad míle fáilte is extended in particular to 6th class students facing the big decision where to pursue their second level education. Our Open Night promises to showcase the very best that Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed has to offer. See you on the 11th!
