Christmas fun for BTEI English language students

December 20, 2016

English language learners from BTEI centres in Cashel, Cahir, Clonmel and Carrick on Suir came together in Army Barracks, Clonmel on Friday 9th of December for a Christmas party. The groups progressed from Adult Learning in May 2015 where they had completed the KET exam in English language. The groups then progressed to the Back to Education Initiative programme and started English Language intermediate level in September 2015. The four groups are due to complete in February 2017 and are currently being invited to continue to the advanced level QQI Level 5 in English language through BTEI.

Tutors Elena Klimonov and Karl McHugh organised the event with the four groups and it was agreed that a Christmas trivia table quiz would be both good fun and a chance to practice listening and speaking skills through English.

Buses were organised to bring the group from Cashel and Carrick to Clonmel. There were spot prizes galore and everyone joined in the festive cheer. Seasonal refreshments were set out in the main canteen in the Army Barracks and it was a great opportunity for students from the different ESOL courses to meet up and mingle.

Thanks to everyone for their help in organising the event!
