VTOS Students from Teach an Léinn receive Junior Cert results

September 14, 2018

Pictured here are the students from Teach an Léinn Further Education Centre, Tipperary ETB who recently participated on the QQI Level 4 General Learning VTOS programme and have just received their excellent Junior Certificate results. Students will now progress to year two of the programme to complete their QQI Level 4 ICT (Information Communications Technology) with Leaving Cert subjects.

A huge well done to all the students on their results and the staff of the centre who support and facilitate these adult learner achievements.

What is VTOS?

VTOS is the Vocational Training Opportunities Scheme and is funded by the Department of Education and Skills to encourage adults to return to full-time learning. Under the VTOS programme eligible adults aged 21 or over can participate in full-time training without losing their social welfare benefits. VTOS is not means-tested. Travel and childcare allowances are available where applicable.

Teach an Léinn Further Education Centre, is Your Local VTOS Centre

In Teach an Léinn Further Education Centre the VTOS programme is offered over a one or two-year period. There are three full-time programmes available; QQI Level 5 Retail Practice, QQI Level 4 General Learning with Leaving Cert and Junior Cert single subjects, QQI Level 4 ICT (Information Communications Technology) with Leaving Cert and Junior Cert single subjects. Each of the three programmes is designed to support the adult student to return to formal learning and upskill for a career by building their confidence and providing a solid learning foundation.
