Successful Work Seminar @TemplemoreCFE

March 14, 2016

ECR Ireland (Efficient Consumer Response) in conjunction with Youthreach (a second chance at education) and Intreo recently hosted a Pre-Employment Skills Seminar as part of ‘Feeding Ireland’s Future – Skills for Work Week’ in Templemore College of Further Education on Friday March 4th. Topaz was the assigned company who agreed to link with this Pre-Employment Skills seminar and lended their expertise to guide both the students from Ceim Eile Youthreach aswell as PLC students at Templemore College of Further Education into suitable preparation for the world of work. The seminar was also assisted by Intreo, the Department of Social Protection’s employment and income supports service. Intreo also had personnel on site on the day.

Feeding Ireland’s Future is an initiative which has brought Irish companies in the retail and food industry together with the Department of Social Protection to offer pre-employment skills training to young people. It is now into its third year and proved to be extremely successful in Templemore College this year.  The students found it to be a very positive and worthwhile exercise in assisting many of them in their preparations for accessing the world of work and in particular the fast moving consumer goods area which employs thousands of people in this country.
