Soccer Champions

Congratulations to our 1st year boys on winning the county finals in the Futsal 5 a side competition. Having qualified from the regional stages, the standard was immensely high from the participating teams on the day. Coláiste Mhuire were pitted against formidable opposition in Cahir Dún Iascaigh, Comeragh College and Nenagh College. Despite scores being close in all three games that resulted in two victories and one narrow defeat, Coláiste Mhuire under Mr. Fahy’s charges won the title to progress to the Munster final stages of the competition to represent Tipperary. We wish them all the best.

Gaelic Football:

Last Wednesday in Old Christians GAA grounds Limerick our u15 team played their Munster quarter final tie against Ennistymon College from Clare. Both sides approached the early stages tentatively until a succession of scores from both sets of forwards seemed to spur the two teams into a fluid and open game of football. Coláiste Mhuire produced some excellent passages of play in the second half and this resulted in some fine scores form Brandon Mills, Lee Ferncombe, Eoin Craddock, Podge Collins and Joe Cornally. The final score read Coláiste Mhuire 12-12 to 6-04 and subsequently set us up for a semi final date with St. Michaels College Kilmihill. Go néirí leo uile!

Grease:

Well done to all involved in this years’ school musical production ‘Grease’ that took place in the Dome on the 24th & 25th. October. With capacity crowds in attendance  our students delivered outstanding performances on both nights. Huge credit goes to everyone who assisted in making this years production a resounding success as this most important annual event in the school calendar goes from strength to strength! In particular, a huge congratulations to Ms. Helen Wallace & Ms. Caoimhe Geaney whose expertise, guidance and patience saw this production come to fruition following many months of preparation and diligence.
