Hurling

Our good run in the u16.5 Munster hurling championship continued last week as our team team made the journey to Rathkeale GAA grounds to face the formidable and highly fancied Tralee CBS. With both sides eager to progress to quarter final stages a lot was at stake in what transpired to be an enthralling and pulsating game of hurling. Little separated the two teams for most of the match but with with five minutes remaining a crucial Eoin Craddock goal proved decisive and for Tralee ‘bhí an rás rite acu’. The final score read 4-11 to 4-08. We wish the team and their mentors Mr. Jamie Fanning & Mr. Kevin Gleeson all the best as they face Nenagh College in their next outing. Scorers: Eoin Craddock (1-07), Seán Britton (2-01), Jack Kennedy (1-00), Gavin Ryan (0-02), Danny Slattery (0-01).

Soccer

The u19 Coláiste Mhuire squad played their first competitive outing of the season against St. Ailbe’s Tipperary Town in Castlemeadows. The first half was evenly contested with both sides creating numerous opportunities. Half an hour into the game the ever diligent Martin Reilly opened the scoring with a superbly taken goal. Coláiste Mhuire seemed to grow from this and play with greater confidence producing some excellent interplay that culminated in several goal chances. With Caylum Gooney, Shane Turner, Éamon Ryan, and Conor Ryan leading by example it wasn’t long before more goals were scored and subsequently Coláiste Mhuire ran out winners on a 5-0 scoreline. Best of luck to the team and their mentors Mr. Fahy & Mr. Butler on their next match against Killenaule. Scorers: Martin Reilly, Caylum Gooney, Shane Turner, Eoin Craddock, Brandon Mills.
