MHI AWARD

Congratulations to Transition Year student Aaron Wort on his success in the Mental Health Ireland Photography/Art Competition. At a ceremony held in Dublin City Council offices, prizes were presented by CEO of Mental Health Ireland Orla Barry and artist/judge Lisa Butterly. Aaron’s work was highly commended and will feature in next year’s calender. Well done also to Ms. Geraldine Cahill for anchoring this project.

CIT VISIT

Education officer from CIT (Cork Institute on Technology) Caroline Kearney paid a visit to our senior classes last week and delivered a comprehensive account of all undergraduate courses available on campus. Feedback from students was positive and found the experience to be most enlightening and informative as they contemplate decisions for third level.

BANK OF IRELAND VISIT

Our 1st year students were visited last week by representatives from Bank Of Ireland Thurles. Through liaising with our Business Department, students were offered an insight into Banking and into the merits of opening bank accounts at a young age with financial institutions. Quite a number of students took up the offer to open accounts and lodge some savings, no doubt to buy some presents for their teachers at the end of year!

ENGLISH LITERATURE QUIZ

Well done to our English literature champions Gary Delaney, Jack Cooney Shorley, Cameron Ferncombe and Azier Aragon Puerma who were successful in our quiz for 1st year to 3rd classes and attained an almost perfect score to claim 1st prize.
