BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS

Congratulations to our u-15 basketball squad that were victorious in the All-Ireland Kadets Schools’ Final played at Portlaoise last week. Despite playing formidable opposition in Tullamore College, our boys under-15 team under the guidance of Ms. Hickey & Ms. Delaney battled hard throughout to win on a resounding scoreline of 41-20. Congratulations to all involved on this excellent achievement!

SCOLÁIREACHTAÍ

Comhghairdeas do Danny Slattery agus Mark Martin sa chéad bhliain as scoláireachtaí a bhuacaint ó ETB Thiobraid Árann le déanaí. Well done to 1st year students Danny Slattery and Mark Martin on winning scholarships recently to attend a summer course this July at The Kerry Gaeltacht Corca Dhuibhne. These sought after scholarships afford students the superb opportunity to improve their Gaeilge and are kindly sponsored by Tipperary ETB. Maith sibh arís is go mbainfidh sibh sult agus taithneamh as an taithí iontach seo!

TY TRIP TO BELFAST

Our Transition Year students traveled to Antrim as part of a school trip recently and enjoyed many of the attractions on offer including the scenic Basaltic Giant’s Causeway, Carrickfergus Castle, The shankill & Falls Roads, Carrick a Rede Bridge, The Houses of Parliament at Stormont, and of course the highlight for many the renowned Victoria Shopping Centre! Many thanks to Co-ordinator Ms. Conroy, and members of staff Ms. O’Connell and Ms. Whelan in facilitating this trip that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

PAINTBALLING

2nd year students were treated to an end of term sojourn to Carlow where they engaged in a series of Paintballing games. Conditions on the day were perfect with panoramic views of The Blackstairs Mountains as a backdrop. Feedback was most positive to the experience which culminated with a well earned refreshing trip to McDonalds on the way home!

ROCKWELL TOURNAMENT

Well played to our 1st year students who competed superbly in The Rockwell Gaelic Football Tournament recently. We narrowly lost out on reaching the final, having succumbed by a point to CIT Comeragh, but played excellently despite being short a number of pivotal players. Outstanding for us on the day were Seán Ryan, Luke Galvin, Danny Slattery, Jack Murphy and Conor Ryan.
