CHRISTMAS MARKET DAY

Christmas Market Day took place last Friday in The Dome as 68 mini companies marketed a tremendous array of various products of the highest quality to be sold to the public. Students from 1st to 6th years had been working meticulously preparing their wares for many weeks in advance for this most important day in the calendar of Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed. Huge credit for this successful event goes to the diligence of organisers and Business Teachers Ms. Bergin, Ms. Molumby and Mr. Brennan. A considerable amount of money was generated on the day with 10% of all profits going to local charities. Students may even had a little left over to buy their hard working teachers Christmas presents!

FRENCH FILMS

Our Transition Year cohort enjoyed a novel way to enhance their linguistic skills through making French films under the guidance of our French Department at Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed. Their film was entitled ‘Le Chat est Parti’. Feedback was trés positif as students deemed it a most enjoyable way to improve their French. Un éxperience formidable!

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS WALK

Well done to all those from our PLC section at Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed that took part last week in the annual walk for the Irish Kidney Association. Despite the inclement conditions spirits weren’t dampened as large numbers turned out to support this most worthy cause. Well done to all involved.

LEADING LIGHTS AWARDS

Student Council leaders Ms. Cahill & Ms. Hayes traveled to Croke Park last Wednesday with the Coláiste Mhuire student Council representatives from 1st to 6th years to attend the RSA (Road Safety Authority) Leading Light Awards ceremony. Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed won the Secondary Education Category award. The ceremony transpired to be a most enjoyable day and memorable experience for all as they were dined while listening to guest speakers in The Hogan Suite.  Well done to all involved including student council leaders Ms. Cahill & Ms. Hayes who attended this prestigious ceremony.
