This is the first of four talks on ‘Fair County’ Farming and Gardening with Nature’
Learn about the Eco-dwelling house.
Growing my own organic nutritious food in harmony with nature.
Sharing the 60 acre farm with a rich diversity of plants and animals.
The interconnectivities in Nature and their importance for us all.
The four one hour episodes will take place via Zoom. A link will be sent to you prior to event.
In this, the first talk we will look at –
Introduction to the Landscape – Devil’s Bit Mountain, History, Archaeology and stories from Cloncannon, my place.
A little background to myself as farmer/ecologist. I will provide an outline of the enterprises and my ethos as a farmer.
Video footage of the Log House (farmer dwelling), and the story of the materials used etc. Take a look inside the house, some artwork and interior design.
A quick tour of the organic garden and soft fruit area (we will look at this in more depth in a later talk).
Then we will meet some of the farm animals as we take a video tour of the farmland habitats – hedgerows, woodland, grassland, ringfort and ponds.
