Currently, TETB is committed to creating within its centres, a learning environment which in its physical, social, cultural and intellectual aspects allows learners to have a holistic learning experience, facilitating them to develop both personally and academically.
TETB’s goal is to demonstrate a commitment to all learners across the organisation by developing policies and practices that improve access and appropriate course placement.
The recently published National Strategy for Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) in FET (SOLAS) defines TEL as “using technology to facilitate and support innovative teaching and learning practices and sets out a vision where, by 2019 teaching and learning is providing greater access to FET and is achieving positive outcomes, for learners, enterprise and our wider society and economy“. It sets out 18 actions under 3 themes including the development of actions plans within each ETB.
In line with the SOLAS Technology Enhanced Learning Strategy, TETB is currently participating in a baseline audit of TEL with Michael Mooney from SOLAS.
Quality Assuring Work Experience and Work Placement
At Tipperary ETB we believe that work experience is a valuable part of the learning experience, allowing learners to get a taste of the realities of working in their chosen career. Therefore, most courses leading to a major award include a Work Experience or Work Practice module with a compulsory work placement.
Tipperary ETB is committed to ensuring that the work-based learning environments that learners experience as part of their work placements are appropriate, safe, and not exploitative of the learners that engage in them.
TETB is committed to providing a range of supports for learners to ensure that our programmes and services are accessible to all. Please click here for the full range of supports available to learners in TETB.
Tipperary ETB (TETB) has an appeals process to enable the learner to appeal the assessment process and/or the assessment result. Please click here for details of this process.
