TETB learners enjoy Adult Learners Festival 2020

A full calendar of events was held around the county of Tipperary for TETB’s adult learners. Please see details below.

Cookery Course

Participants completed a very successful six-week cookery course in Fethard Convent Community Hall on Wednesday, March 4. The course tutor was Ms Eileen Bowden and it was funded by the Community Education Department of Tipperary Education and Training Board. Ms Veronica Crowe, Community Education Facilitator with Tipperary ETB, visited the group to celebrate the Adult Learner Festival which took place all across the country during the week of 2nd to 6th March. The course itself was organised by Ms Margaret O’Neill, Home-School-Community Liaison Co-ordinator, Patrician Presentation Secondary School Fethard and Scoil Ruain, Killenaule and centred around healthy cooking on a limited budget. It was very well received by all the participants.

Get Creative – Killaloe / Ballina FRC centre 

Two open to community art and craft workshops were held on Wednesday the 4th of March 10-12pm - 12:30-2:30pm under the guidance of TETB Tutor: Melissa Sommerville Ryan  and Partners in Education: KBFRC

 

The Artful Coffee Morning – Borrisokane FET Centre

Art group in Borrisokane FET Centre hosted an open coffee morning on Tuesday 02 March (10am –12pm) as part of the Adult Learner Festival in Borrisokane FET centre under the guidance of TETB Tutor: Richard Williams

 

In the Making – Exhibition of Community Art and Craft Groups – Nenagh Library

Several community education groups hosted a small exhibition of art and crafts in Nenagh Library for Adult Leaner Festival. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this exhibition opening on Wednesday 4th March at 11.30am to view learner crafts on display.

 

Community Education groups displaying items at this event include two painting groups based in Nenagh & an Embroidery Group based in Borrisokane, and a Sewing / Craft group based in Nenagh.  Tutors: Josephine Geaney, Lorraine Hickey, Melissa Sommerville Ryan. Partner in Education for Embroidery Group: Silverarch FRC Nenagh
