Ploughing Championships

Senior students attended this year’s ploughing championships in Tullamore on Wednesday 21^st September accompanied by their teachers. A great day was had by all. The rain that fell failed to dampen the spirits of the group. The event was of particular benefit to students of Agricultural Science and Construction Studies where they accessed the latest information from the stands for their Leaving Certificate projects.

Hurling Scholarship Trials

Scoil Ruáin is offering Hurling Scholarships to 20 First Year Students for the forthcoming school year. It is open to all current 6^th class primary school boys and girls. This initiative is aimed at children who have a specific talent in hurling. Trials will be held in Scoil Ruáin on Friday 14^th October at 12pm. An interview will also take place. Students must be accompanied by their parent/guardian for the trial and interview. Please call the school on 052 9156332 for an application form or further information.
