Basketball Updates

The first year Falcons qualified for the South East Semi final after defeating CTI Clonmel in their final pool game on Wednesday, the 15th of February.

They won by a single point 23-22 in Monroe. With 3.5 seconds remaining Clonmel tied the game but right on the buzzer Jessica Strappe was fouled. Both teams had to go to the side for Jessica’s free throws and as cool as a breeze she scored the first one to win the game.

Scorers – Samantha Doherty 9 pts. Clodagh Webster 1 pt. Melinda Csuzi 2pts. Jessica Strappe 11 pts.

The first year Falcons and Eagles have both earned a home semi-final and wait for the results from the Wexford, Waterford, Kilkenny and Carlow pools in their respective leagues. Well done to both teams.
