NCCA Review of the Senior Cycle

Scoil Ruáin was chosen, as one of 41 schools in Ireland, to participate in a review of the current programme at Senior Cycle. This review asked pupils, parents and teachers to give their opinion on both the positives and negatives of our current system – Transition Year, Leaving Cert Applied Programme, Leaving Certificate and Leaving Cert Vocational Programme. They were also asked to give their input on what changes they think should be made to any new Senior Cycle Programme. This review started in September 2018 and will conclude in early 2019 with a report of the findings being presented to the Department of Education by June 2019. If any parent would like to contribute to this review process please email moneill@tipperaryetb.ie for further information on how you can participate.

Visit from Local Primary Schools

During the past week 5th and 6th Class students from all the feeder primary schools in the region came to Scoil Ruáin over the course of two days in order to sample what the school has to offer them. They participated in a wide variety of classes including:- French, Music, Art, Science, Home Economics, Wood Work and Metal Work to mention a few. They also got the opportunity to experience the state of the art sports facilities and sample a day in the life of a Scoil Ruáin student. A great day was had by all and we are grateful to the management and staff of our local schools for facilitating this post primary school experience for their students.
