Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré Reach Munster Final

On Monday the 28th of November Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré’s senior camogie team played Coláiste an Chroí Naofa, Carraig na bhFear, Co Cork in the Munster semi-final in the Ragg, Thurles. The girls knew that they were going to have a tough battle on their hands as they had been defeated by this Carrignavar last year. The girls fought tirelessly for the entire 60 minutes. Centre back Sharon Shanahan delivery and execution was outstanding.  When the final whistle went Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré were victorious by a single point. The girls’ never say die attitude proved to be the winning formula on the day. They now await the winners of Hospital and Ennis to discover their opponents in the Munster Final. Well done to all involved.

Result: Colaiste Phobal Ros Cré 3-7 Coláiste an Chroí Naofa 4-3

Christmas Cards

While having an early Christmas ” hot chocolate ” party, senior students from Fr Lorcan’s R.E. class made Christmas cards for the children’s ward in Portlaoise General Hospital. Students from Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré do this every year. Inside the card each student writes what they would wish for a sick child this Christmas. We also extend our good wishes to the staff and all who will be working in hospitals this Christmas season.

Fifth Year Agricultural Science Trip

On Monday the 28th of Novemeber our fifth year agricultural science class travelled to Coorevin Farm as part of their agricultural science course. This was a most beneficial and informative trip for the students. Students got to experience different aspects of their course. Many thanks to Padraig Moran for his expertise and hospitality.

Munster Senior Hurling Match

Our senior hurlers bowed out of the Munster B hurling championship after losing to Coláiste an Spioraid Naomh, Bishopstown, Cork on a score line of Spioraid Naomh  3-13 to Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré 1-15. This was a huge disappointment especially as Roscrea had many chances to win the game. After an even first half scores were level four times with the Cork boys shading it at half time on a score line of 1-01 to 0-07. Roscrea dominated the second half for long periods but too many missed chances proved costly for Roscrea. Unfortunately, Coláiste an Spioraid Naomh scored a late goal to snatch victory from Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré.
