First Year Cairde Céilí

On Tuesday 25th of October the 6th Year Cairde Group from Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré organised a Halloween Céilí for our new first year students. The céilí took place in the school canteen which had been expertly decorated by the members of the Cairde Group. The event was a tremendous success with over 80 first year students attending. Students and staff dressed up in a variety of costumes to make it a fun night to remember for all the first year students. The evening was full of traditional Irish music, Irish dancing, games, refreshments, prizes and lots of fun and laughter. The students had a ‘Spooktacular’ time and the feedback from the event was very positive. Special thanks to Bernie’s Super Value, Roscrea who generously provided the refreshments for the evening. Thanks to all the musicians who provided the lively music on the night, to Mr Maher our ‘fear an tí’ and to Miss Connolly Hogan, Father Lorcan and Mr Haugh for all their help and support organising this event.

Art Trip to The Hunt Museum Limerick

Some of our 6th year art students travelled to the Hunt Museum in Limerick this week. The trip was very beneficial to all students. The museum exhibits one of Ireland’s greatest private collections of art and antiquities, dating from Neolithic to the 20th Century. Many thanks to Ms Saliba and Ms Stanley for accompanying the students on this trip.
