GENERATION €URO STUDENT AWARDS

Huge congratulations to Transition Year students Javier Capilla Remorasa, Aaron Wort, Jennien O’Gorman and Aaron Cawley on their tremendous achievement in coming runners-up at the national final of the Generation €uro Student Awards recently at The Central Bank in Dublin. Under the guidance of their Business teacher Ms. Elaine Molumby, our students qualified for the All-Ireland stage of this prestigious competition having come through regional and divisional stages. The Generation €uro Student Awards is about monetary policy and interest rates in The European Central Bank.

PIN COLLECTION

The Thomas Francis Meagher pins that were purchased by students and staff recently as part of the 1916 Commemorations managed to raise an impressive sum of 600 euro for local charities. Well done to all involved.

SCHOOLS BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP

As part of the School Business Partnership, representatives from local Enterprise Dew Valley Meats visited Coláiste Mhuire to talk to 5th year students and delivered ‘A day in the life’ presentations. Over forthcoming weeks students will learn about working conditions and operations in a secondary industry such as Dew Valley.

ETB HURLING BLITZ

Well done to our u-15 hurling squad on their victories over Comeragh College, Fethard College and Coláiste Phobail Roscrea at Dr. Morris Park last week in the County ETB hurling blitz. We now qualify for the next stage of this competition where we will be pitted against equally tough opposition. Outstanding for us on the day were Luke Galvin, Martin Reilly, Danny Slattery, Éamon Ryan, Páraic Loughnane, Gary Delaney and our ever dependable goalie Neil Holland!
