HUMANITIES TRIP

Our 1st year students undertook a Humanities trip visiting some some local renowned sites such as Cabragh  Wetlands, Holycross Abbey and The Rock of Cashel. Feedback from all in attendance was most positive as students were enlightened with superb talks delivered by tour guides in each venue. The excursion concluded with a well deserved trip to McDonalds!

OLD TRAFFORD TRIP

Excitement was palpable in Coláiste Mhuire last Friday as a large number of 1st & 2nd year students prepared themselves for a trip of a lifetime to attend a Premiership fixture in the world famous Old Trafford. Our Manchester United fans (and small number of Bournemouth fans!) in particular, were looking forward to this clash for months as an experience to savour.

U15 HURLING

The u15 hurlers made the journey to Cork to play local opposition Carrignavar Community College in The Corn Uí Mhearáin competition. Rain and wind together with heavy underfoot conditions made hurling difficult but despite this, both sides delivered an enthralling game of a high standard. The home side started better and settled in to the match scoring two quick goals. Luke Galvin replied with a brace of points followed by scores from Gavin Ryan, Seán Ryan and Jack Kennedy. The day ultimately belonged to Carrignavar however, as they edged out Coláiste Mhuire with some late scores to qualify for the next round. Among others to shine on the day were Cillian Donaghy, Eoin Craddock, TJ Carroll and Neil Holland.

ALL-IRELAND CROSS-COUNTRY

Best of luck to our students who will represent our school, county & province in this weekends’ All-Ireland Schools Cross-Country championships that take place in Belfast. Go néirí libh!
