ECR Ireland (Efficient Consumer Response) in conjunction with Youthreach (a second chance at education) and Intreo will be hosting a Pre-Employment Skills Seminar as part of ‘Feeding Ireland’s Future – Skills for Work Week’ in Templemore College of Further Education on Friday March 4^th 2016 from 10am-12pm. Our assigned company for the seminar is Topaz who have agreed to work with us on this Pre-Employment Skills seminar and lend their expertise to guide both our Ceim Eile Youthreach students and our PLC students into suitable preparation for the world of work. The seminar will also be assisted by Intreo which is the Department of Social Protection’s employment and income supports service. Intreo will have personnel on site in Templemore College on March 4^th also from 10am-12pm.

Now in its third year, Feeding Ireland’s Future is an initiative which has brought Irish companies in the retail and food industry together with the Department of Social Protection to offer pre-employment skills training to young people. This year the initiative has been extended to incorporate Youthreach centres throughout the country, three of which are based in Tipperary, Cappawhite, Roscrea and Templemore with Templemore facilitating this year’s seminar.  Here in Templemore College of Further Education we see this as a very positive and worthwhile exercise in assisting many of our students to be prepared to access the world of work and in particular the fast moving consumer goods area which employs thousands of people in this country. We look forward to many of our students gaining handsomely from this seminar which will guide them towards their future employment.  There are many companies participating in this year’s initiative including Topaz who we are delighted to have as our assigned company and to have the opportunity to work with such a high calibre national operator.
