Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed Thurles School Notes 20/11/2015

November 20, 2015

SOCCER:

Our under-19 soccer team made the journey to Limerick last week to play St. Nessan’s College in The Munster Cup. This game transpired to be an exciting encounter as both sides fancied their chances of progressing to the next stage. Whilst little seperated the teams for most of the match, it was Nessan’s College who capitalised better with their opportunities to record a 4-2 victory. Best for Coláiste Mhuire on the day were Endys Mickellson, Curtis Ryan, David Manning, and man of the match Aaron Delaney.

GIRLS 5 A SIDE SOCCER:

Well done to our 1st year Girls soccer team that competed in the All-County FAI Schools’ Soccer Tournament at The Dome recently. Despite not bringing home any silverware, a superb performance was delivered by all involved and the experience of this first outing will undoubtedly stand to us in forthcoming competitions!

GREEN SCHOOLS:

Our Green Schools committee members are busy attending meetings these days as they continue to promote a cleaner & greener environment for Coláiste Mhuire and aspire to attain a second coveted Green Flag from An Taisce. Huge credit to staff members Ms. Maggie Smith and Ms. Caoimhe Geaney in facilitating these meetings and and promoting environmental awareness among staff & students at Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed.

GAELIC FOOTBALL:

We wish our senior Gaelic Football team all the best as they take on a formidable Beara College from West Cork in the next stage of the Corn Uí Mhaoldomhnaigh next week. Following on from our recent victory over Ennis Community College confidence is high. Go néirí go geal leo!
Congratulations as well to 2nd year students Gary Delaney, Oscar Lipinski, Pádraig Gleeson, and Jack Keogh, on being selected for The Mid-Tipperary u-14 and u-15 Gaelic Football squads following recent trials.
