Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed School Notes 08-01-2016

January 8, 2016

Our 1st, 2nd, and transition year students ventured off to The BT Young Scientist Exhibition in The RDS last week. This transpired to be a superb experience especially for our younger cohort as they witnessed an amazing array of projects on display from every county in Ireland. There has been a huge interest in the Young Scientist competition amongst students at Coláiste Mhuire in recent years that has seen a huge upsurge of projects being submitte for this prestigious event under the guidance of our excellent Science Department. Undoubtedly, our students will have benefitted from their trip to Dublin and gained a little inspiration for next year’s event!

Staff and students alike at Coláiste Mhuire are becoming transformed these times as the school endeavours to attain a coveted Active School Flag. Walks are taking place at lunchtime, and for staff, gym sessions and weigh-ins are taking place as anyone interested in getting fit and healthy participate in Operation Transformation.

Well done to all the enterprise winners from the superb Christmas Market that was held in our assembly area prior to the break. Our students ranging from 1st year to 6th years demonstrated their creative and inventive acumen with an outstanding display of products that were speedily purchased by those in attendance on the day. Huge credit goes to staff involved, particularly from The Business Department who arranged this successful event that has become an important showpiece in the calender of Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed.
