Student Leaders Congress: Thirty students accompanied by Ms. Lally and Ms. Dunne attended the  Cycle Against Suicide STUDENT LEADERS’ CONGRESS 2015 in the RDS in Dublin on Wednesday, January 14th. The core aim of the Student Leaders’ Congress is to promote positive mental health, help-seeking behaviour in young people and the message that ; ‘It’s OK not to feel OK; and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help’. The congress was student-led and a large portion of the day involved students including two of our own students Robert Gernon and Killian Carr who discussed our schools project on mental health.  There was some excellent performances by the Dublin Gospel Choir and White Chalk.  Also interviews with Bressie, Seamus Hennessy, Conor Cusack and Sonia O’Sullivan to name a few.  A range of mental health organisations exhibited on the day signposting students in the direction of where that critical help is available.  The theme for the congress was ‘Appreciate Your Mind’.   A very enjoyable day was had by all.

Paris Trip: A group of Transition year students had a very enjoyable trip to Paris last week. Teachers involved where Ms. Eimear Cahalan, Ms. Eileen Forde, Ms Claire Cahalan and Mr. Francis Bourke. They visited many key landmarks including the Eiffel tower and the Louvre. They also enjoyed a trip to Euro Disney. This is an annual trip that is thoroughly enjoyed by the students and staff alike.
