Poem Composed by 6th year prefect to read aloud over school intercom during Friendship Week.

“Girl Abreeze” by Emma Cavanagh

The girl sat alone
Head covered, feet twitching
Familiar faces smiling
Yet unwelcoming

Leaves fall towards their annual slumber
As if hailing the spirit of cold
A small, battered leaf
Separated from the foiliage around

That was until
An aura of kindness
Slipped into her hands
That nostalgic feeling of a warmer soul

With the help of the warm gust of an autumn breeze
The girl no longer sat alone
Lodged in the huddle of love and life
Her eyes burned ablaze, bright into the night”
