Forty students from Borrisokane Community College recently travelled to Belgium, the Netherlands & Germany for a three day school tour. The picture below was taken outside the entrance to Phantasialand theme park, situated near Cologne in Germany.
Businesses are getting ready for the annual Christmas market at Borrisokane Community College. The event will take place in the school on Thursday 10th December. It will be open to students and parents from 2 pm and the public from 4pm – 8pm when our Christmas concert is due to begin. This year to cater for our younger visitors, Santa’s Grotto is a new addition. Various fun activities including face painting and a visit to the Grotto will be available after 4pm.
For those who love shopping it’s the chance to browse and enjoy the unique work of local designers, artists, and craftspeople who will be taking part in the school’s celebration of crafts. If shopping just isn’t your thing, think of it as a heaven sent opportunity to buy all your Christmas gifts in a single shopping session! This annual fair will hopefully become an opportunity to showcase local business and student commercial craftwork. Parents, students and business people will be showing and selling top quality goods. The range is dazzling – everything from chocolates to high quality organic meat and vegetables, and because the goods are handmade by craftspeople, they have the added distinction of each one being unique. All businesses and their crafts coming that day can be seen on the school website. www.borrisokanecc.ie. Please come along and support a worthy event that celebrates student and local business and produce.
Congratulations to our student L. Tuohy who won an award for Excellence in STEM on Friday 6th November at the Scifest National finals.
