Creating New Worlds

Tipperary Excel Writers Group along with ’The three drives Resource Centre’ joined forces to celebrate positive Mental Health week with an event at the Excel Centre on October 11th. The launch of the latest collection of writings/ and poems took place along with an art exhibition entitled ‘Moods the work of participants from the Resource Centre under the Tutelage of Melissa Corish. The evening was a celebration of all things creative, showing the positive effects of various arts forms on mental Health. Creativity in a happy and welcoming environment where the positive well being of the participant is nurtured, and friendships are fostered results in the beautiful art work and the publication of another collection of work. Veronica Crowe community education facilitator and Kay Mullaney E.T.B. Coordinator were present for the occasion and were delighted with the positive outcome of the funding support from the Education and training Board.

Tipperary’s Excel Writers launched their latest collection of stories, poems and observations on Monday October 9th at Tipperary Excel Arts Centre. The book is entitled Literally?

This is their second publication of work in the last five years. Some of the writers were featured in the last collection, but the new book also contains work by newer members. Here you’ll find stories, observations and poems laced with memories, humour, longing and wry commentary on so-called everyday life.

The writers’ work is facilitated by Patricia Mc Hale. They meet at the Tipperary Excel on an ongoing basis and are supported by Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB).
