Fergus Byrne, a Dublin based artist whose works featured in the exhibition ‘Moving Targets pace and poise’ with artist Roddy Buchanan, concluded an exhibition recently that was curated by Annette Moloney at The Arts Centre, Thurles. Fergus presented sculpture and drawings that respond to the study of wrestling- both its practice and its representation in Art. The artworks map the pathway towards his current work including choreosculptures and mobile wooden frameworks.
During the final week of the exhibition over the mid-term break this Dublin based artist Fergus Byrne offered a series of ‘movement workshops’, at The Source Arts Centre, with the Leaving Certificate students and PLC artists of Coláiste Mhuire Co-Ed. The workshops were a success and provided these young aspiring artists with a profound educational experience.
Both students and their Art teacher Ms. Dorney deemed the workshops to be an enjoyable & valuable learning experience.
