Coláiste Dun Iascaigh invites you on a journey to the 80’s

A journey back to a time when Michael Jackson and Rick Astley were the Kings of Pop…A journey back to a time when bubble skirts and blue eye shadow was cool…

A journey back to a time when the Atari was cutting edge technology…That’s right dudes…you are about to go on a journey…

From the era that brought the world The Rubik’s Cube, Miami Vice and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes this “totally awesome” musical in the style of movies such as Back To The Future, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Karate Kid and The Wedding Singer.

Join the graduating class of William Ocean High School as they live through their final senior year – as they experience the fun, the heartbreak, the loves and the loneliness of growing up…. all set to the biggest hits of the 80’s!!

With songs such as Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, Kids In America, Girls Just Want To Have Fun, Footloose, Mickey, Video Killed The Radio Star, Glory Of Love, Let’s Hear It For the Boy, I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles) and You Give Love A Bad Name in the first act alone, there is sure to be plenty of nostalgia for parents and great fun for their children.

As ever, directors Norma Barry-Hurley and Judith Shortall have called on experienced talent such as Alissa Keating, Nicole Butler, Saoirse Murphy, Emily O’ Donovan, Katie Noonan, Amy Carroll and Niamh Murphy from last year’s hit High School Musical. That talented group have already hit the high notes in last year’s show and many others in the past.

This year’s show will unleash new talent on the audience in the Coláiste in the form of Conor Walsh, Leah Murphy, Gillian Conway, Jack Conway, David Murphy, Kevin O’Connor and many other newcomers who have had minor parts in the past but are now ready to  become the new stars of the Coláiste stage.

The show takes place in the Coláiste Dún Iascaigh gym onThursday 24th, Friday 25th and Saturday 26th of November. Tickets are available from the school office and from The Heritage in the square in Cahir.
