Bogdan with principal Mary Finnegan Burke and Maths teacher Ann-Marie Quinn

The Irish Junior Maths Competition has been held for 1st Year Students since 1994. It consists of a school round where multiple choice brain teasers are answered within a 40 minute period. Only thirty student per school are allowed take part in this section. Based on results, students are invited to a regional final.

The regional final for this area took place in Presentation Secondary School, Clonmel on Friday 8th of May. Bogdan Iarmolouk a first year student from Colaiste Dun Iascaigh won first prize in the region. Furthermore, Bogdan had the ultimate honour of being the first student from the region to score the maximum 100%. Bogdan’s Maths teacher Ms Ann-Marie Quinn commented “Great things are expected in the future from our maths prodigy.” She along with Principal Mary Finnegan-Burke expressed their congratulations to Bogdan on behalf of the whole school community.
