Internal Verification

Internal Verification (IV) is an important part of our assessment process. IV is carried out by programme/course staff and involves checking that:

  1. the assessment procedures have been followed, and
  2. the marks and grades awarded are correct.

IV happens before the external authentication process.

Staff will use an IV report to record any errors found and improvements needed. The external authenticators will also see a copy of all the IV reports.

The IV reports (along with other reports) are then presented to the Results Approval Panel (RAP) at the ETB’s results approval meeting.
